Research activities include: adaptive filtering, non-linear modeling, adaptive DSP algorithms, multimodal signal processing of audio-video signals, VoIP and multimedia transmission over IP, biomedical signal processing and biometric analysis, image and video compression, robotic vision, fractal and wavelet applications, signal processing architectures and applications, signal processing for computer graphics. The research also includes: speech analysis and synthesis; algorithm/architecture interaction on DSP microcomputers; computer aids for the handicapped; and DSP implementation for real-time signals with particular interest in the coding of video images; enhancement of distorted images; and implementation algorithms.
